Curriculum

The online financial planning program will give you a foundation in finance with an added focus in financial advising and planning. Coursework will prepare you to assess clients' assets, liabilities, cash flow, insurance coverage, tax status and retirement considerations, while meeting the education coursework requirement for the CFP® certification exam. Following completion of this highly interactive and forward-thinking program, you'll also be equipped - after securing proper licensure - to advise clients through a wide range of financial services, including investments, insurance, mortgages, college savings, estate planning, taxes and retirement.

General Education Program

Business Core Program

Programs in the School of Business require learners to complete the business core program, which includes a variety of business-specific courses. This program focuses on 10 core competencies to prepare you for success wherever you go.

Courses May Include

Federal Taxation I
Learn about current US tax laws and the Internal Revenue Code (IRC), as well as the relevant source documents, associated with federal tax returns for individuals. Apply the appropriate tax laws as required by law in relation to the specific circumstances and tax liabilities of individuals. Prepare federal tax returns and communicate various tax return information to individuals
